All the clinical trials demonstrated statistical superiority of Champix varenicline to bupropion and placebo. Also during the studies it was found that the craving and withdrawal were significantly reduced in patients randomized to Champix. Champix varenicline also significantly reduced reinforcing and pleasing effects of smoking that can propagate smoking behaviour in patients who smoke during treatment.
